KSTVET is proud to officially launch our Centre of Excellence (Special Needs) on 1 May 2024. The inauguration of this Centre will be launched at THE GREY BOX on 1 May 2024 by

Mr. Kanendran T. Arulrajah, Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Paul Stephen Rowell, Founder and Director of My FlexHealth as our Patron for Centre of Excellence (Special Needs).

The objectives to launch this Centre are to ensure:

  1.  student awareness of the vocational education pathways and career options are available for special needs

  2. the Vocational Education Pathway includes greater collaboration with the public and private sector for special needs category

 

KNOWSKILLS TVET College is working closely with various Intervention Centres and organisations to provide continuous vocational pathway for special needs children at the age of 16 years.

KNOWSKILLS TVET College welcomes any organisations, companies, Intervention Centre, professionals, etc to work with us to do our Corporate Social Responsibility to educate and churn out persons’ with disabilities into job employabilitycx                                          

UNLOCKING POTENTIAL, ONE STEP AT A TIME!

Centre of Excellence (Special Needs) offers the following programmes:

  • LAPT Skills Proficiency Certificate (for Special Needs)    (6 months)

 

Through interactive activities and role-playing exercises, students will enhance their communication abilities, preparing them for success in their chosen career paths.

 

Pathway Options:

Upon completing the Level 2 LAPT Skill Proficiency Certificate, students have the opportunity to specialize in various career pathways, including:

  • Hospitality Management

  • Business Administration

  • Information Technology

  • Culinary Arts

 

Our flexible pathway options allow students to pursue their interests and talents, guiding them towards bachelor certification and rewarding careers in their chosen fields.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Prospective students must meet the following eligibility criteria to enroll in our Special Needs Program:

1. Minimum age of 16 years old

2. Assessment of individual learning needs and abilities

DURATIONS: 6 MONTHS

Through LAPT Skills Proficiency Certificate programme, student will learn in 4 different area which are Housekeeping, Information technology, Food and Beverage and also communication

 

In our housekeeping module, students will learn essential skills and techniques required for maintaining cleanliness and order in various environments. Emphasizing practical applications and industry relevance, our curriculum covers areas such as  cleaning procedures and techniques, room setup and organization Laundry management, safety and hygiene protocols. Through real-world simulations and hands-on training in hotels, students will develop the proficiency needed to excel in housekeeping roles within the hospitality industry and beyond.

 

Our Information Technology module focuses on building fundamental computer skills and software proficiency essential for success in today's digital world. Students will learn basic computer operations and troubleshooting, Internet and email usage, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). With a practical approach to learning, students will gain the confidence and competence to navigate technology effectively, opening doors to various career opportunities in the IT sector and beyond.​

 

Whereas food and beverage module introduces students to the fundamentals of food preparation, service, and safety. Whether aspiring chefs or hospitality professionals, students will learn basic food handling practices, customer service etiquette, food safety and sanitation standards, beverage service and mixology basics. Through hands-on food and beverage operations experiences and practical demonstrations, students will develop the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic food and beverage industry.​

 

Effective communication is a cornerstone of success in any field. In our communication module, students will develop essential skills for conveying information, building relationships, and working collaboratively in diverse settings. Key areas of focus include verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, active listening and empathy, written communication skills (emails, reports, etc.)debates, public speaking, emcee Interpersonal skills for customer service and teamwork
